RIP Eddie Jordan

Jordan was the first F1 team I properly supported after following Damon Hill there, and I stuck with them until the end. Against all the odds he did pretty well really, ‘99 was an amazing season when Heinz-Harald Frentzen had a decent shout at the title. And who could forget Spa ‘98?

I’ll be wearing these bad boys through the rest of the week I think as a little tribute.

If I could own just one F1 car, it would definitely be the EJ-11. What a beauty. Eddie made a great choice by sticking with the yellow livery. If I remember correctly, the Jordans were the most recognised car at the time behind the Ferraris.

@ellieraejaye yes, the Jordan card were always iconic. Although I preferred the bee, or was it a wasp, livery.
@marix yep, the Buzzin’ Hornets, they were great too.
@ellieraejaye Good shout, but I always loved the 199 myself.
@PaulH it’s amazing that this one was in the running for the championships for so long in the season. Great car.

@ellieraejaye
Close but no cigar!

for me its the irish-green shamrock badged 191 that launched Michael Schumacher. (After all I am an Irishman!)

@ellieraejaye I saved up to buy a Damon Hill Jordan cap in 1999, and I was gutted when it was too big for my head. Still one of the nicest F1 caps I’ve ever owned though.

First thing I ever remember doing on the Internet was searching for photos of F1 cars and printing out a picture of HH Frenzen in his Jordan for my bedroom wall. I’d gone to the library to do it specially.

Farewell Eddie 😢
