I was pleased by news of #JusticeRoberts’ public comments regarding the call to impeach judges who ruled against the #POTUSINO’s #ExecutiveOrders or actions. I was also pleased to read about #JudgeChuang’s ruling…1/8
…that #DOGE’s dismantling of the #USAID may have been #unconstitutional. I have reached out to you since the early days of this Admin (it’s just been 2 months, but it feels like 2 years has passed) with grave concerns about respect for the #constitution and the rule of #law by this #Executive. 2/8
I do not believe this #WhiteHouse respects the #balanceofpower between the three branches. Many of my letters regarding the sanctity of your very seat and the #Congress’s power. I value that balance of power greatly. 3/8
I believe that that balance has allowed the US #Constitution to become the oldest living supreme law document. It has ensured #tyranny cannot find purchase -- corruption, perhaps; inefficiencies, surely. But not tyranny. I believe we have a #POTUSINO who intends to consolidate power. 4/8
I believe we have an #Executive who will manipulate the system to extend their time in office indefinitely. I believe this because the Executive has NOT GIVEN ME REASON TO BELIEVE OTHERWISE. I cannot believe I have to write these words. 5/8
They sound crazy to me as I’m sure they do to you. But at the end of the day, I don’t have to like all the decisions made through the process of negotiation, #bipartisanship and #compromise, but I can live with them. 6/8
But I do not see a future with the #UnitedStates as we know it with evidence mounting that this #Executive wishes for us all to accept a singular will, born from an exclusive few. 7/8
So long as the #Congress does not issue rebukes and take actions to check the #POTUSINO as these judges have, I do not believe we have a fully functioning #USgovernment that aligns with the vision of the framers. Is that what the #GOP wants? 8/8
