Gideon the Ninth was funny, fresh, and an absolute blast to read. So when I picked up Harrow the Ninth, I was incredibly apprehensiveāthe first book had left me with so many emotions, and I wasnāt sure if I was ready.
I can say that I absolutely loved this book.
It felt like emotion under a microscopeāa powerful, overwhelming sense of longing that lingers, holds your hand, and follows you through every page. Always accompanied in your solitude. Feeling a presence, turning around, and finding nothing.
I loved not understanding, I loved feeling lost, I loved questioning everything as I turned each page. And most of all, I loved the journeyābecause for me, nighttime journeys are always the most beautiful.
I didnāt realize just how much I loved Gideon in the first book until this one, and it hit me hard.
So if youāre hesitant because your fragile heart is still recovering from the first book, just read it. Donāt overthink it, just do it.
Youāre in good handsāhands that will hurt you again, but with such talent.
