Steve Rudolfi

Turning to the #mastodonHiveMind. #HelpMeFind the name of an #mp3player I had back in the late 90s (maybe early 00s?).

I've looked through pages of image search results. Poured through eBay. Toured the #vintageTech & #portableSound articles & forums.

I mocked up what I remember. Device was this rounded, pear-ish shape. That soft matte black plastic. Screen on the top. Had buttons on the top edges. I think there was an SD slot at the bottom. Maybe buttons on front below screen?

Any insight?

Not a Rio of any variety I found images for, unfortunately. I do think it was a major brand though-- maybe Sandisk?

@surfingreg I never left my mp3's actually. Nowadays, I just make sure my phone has enough space and sync to that.

I was hoping to add this mystery device to my nostalgia shelf along with my Archos Jukebox 6000. At this point, I would be happy to just find out that I didn't make it up.

I'll probably throw it to the Reddit hivemind tomorrow.

@SteveRudolfi It reminds me of something I saw in a video game magazine that was doing a Dreamcast feature... The memory is faint but maybe that can help add a piece to the puzzle.
