At long, long last, our #Android phones can double as #Linux laptops.

Google introduces Debian Linux terminal app for Android. My phone's a laptop at last!

Hmm, not sure if this is what I've been waiting for.

The Linux Terminal runs on top of a Debian Linux virtual machine. This enables you to access a shell interface directly on your Android device.

So you're running Android, a Debian VM on that, and a terminal in that VM. I'd want a phone that actually runs Linux, natively, something like the Librem5.

Too bad it's still too power-hungry to be useful as a daily driver.

@hans I have reason to believe e/os will support it as well by this time next year. https://e.foundation/

@sjvn Heh, e/os/ has been in my wish list for a few years. But I'm a bit scared to flash my Fairphone4, as it is my only phone, both for work and private.

I also have a Librem5, but that's not really production ready yet
