In a previous life I worked in astronomy outreach at the Brera Observatory in Milan, Italy.

I conducted guided tours of the astronomical museum and the dome of the original Merz refractor Giovanni Virginio Schiaparelli used in the 19th century for his observations of the canals of Mars. In these 2011 photos I showed the telescope and the view from the roof of the building.
