@PhoenixSerenity I’m COVID cautious & nominally part of the queer community, who despite lived experience of the previous pandemic were one of the first to race back to socialising & aggressively refused to implement any precautions or education to keep the community safe.

@PhoenixSerenity @Sidherian When AIDS activists in Australia requested community health organisations they’d literally helped build, provide COVID related education & precautions they were abused. All similar requests by other community members have been denied or ignored. Not even HIV+ groups will act.
This has happened worldwide, only ACTUP NY tried to help.

@Sidherian I understood long covid before it became a term. I live with post polio - the PPS came decades after I became paralyzed from initial polio infection. I spoke about importance of vaccines, why none are 100% foolproof (no vaccines are) & why, as a war survivor child who got sick with polio via live vaccine - still supported global vax actions. I was one of very few, out of billions of vaccinated kids to get super sick & get paralyzed for life. I still support vaccines. Anti-vaxxers have a hard time, dealing with people like me.

I’m 60, old enough to remember getting pink polio liquid & to have had neighbours with polio. I was a young adult during the worst of the AIDS crisis. I started reading COVID science as it was published & it was obviously something to be wary of. I never thought there’d be this much denial.
