In Germany, where 85 percent of the population say they trust the French, only 16 percent now say they trust the US.

Meanwhile in Denmark a new Berlingske poll came out where 92 percent of Danes say, we need to focus on Europe โ€” not the US โ€” when it comes to security. Only 3 percent disagree.

Trump is completely rebranding the US as an Oblast of Russia.

@randahl
russia: power by fake news and threats
china: power by economical traps and threats
usa: power by threats

eu: soft power

Yes, we are getting closer to a third world war, just hope that musk manage to migrate the leadership of china, russia, and usa to Mars, so that they can have the war there.

@aho @randahl now thatโ€™s worth pay-per-view!
@aho
Or hopefully they just explode on the launchpad.
@randahl he will still declare victory over this as he will be able to say he made Europe "pay their fare share" on defense, while completely ignoring the fact that trust has not only been damaged, but most likely destroyed.
@randahl @cstross
After Brexit, I'm amazed the UK is so high.
@a_cubed @randahl I think they've probably figured out that the UK has a severe case of buyers' regret.
@randahl "Trump is completely rebranding the US as an Oblast of Russia." Quite ironic that they talk about Canada becoming the 51st state, when they're actually turning the USA into the 47th oblast. (And the fact that it would be the 47th is pleasingly appropriate.)

@robparsons @randahl

I was considering rebranding the USA as the UCR (United Colonies of Russia).

@randahl they trust the UK? Did they forgot the brexit?

ยปOpinion of Donald Trump since he took officeยซ

https://www.dw.com/en/germans-no-longer-see-us-as-trustworthy-partner/a-71858094

Now guess which two of these parties are supposedly supported by and/or friendly with Putin.

Germans no longer see US as trustworthy partner

Two weeks after the German election, voters are concerned about the response to Donald Trump's policies, the fate of Ukraine and the issue of massive investment and record debt.

Deutsche Welle
@oliver_schafeld I'm not sure my opinion of Donald Trump has worsened since he took office the second time. I still remember him from the first time and kind of knew what to expect.

@randahl

The goodwill took some 80 years to forge, but Trump managed burn it in 6 weeks.

Amazing accomplishmentโ€ฆ

@randahl Bra jobbat Danmark. Hoppas pรฅ liknande siffror pรฅ andra sidan sundet!
@randahl Thatโ€™s great and all, but how do we prevent the broligarchs from installing Farage and Le Pen next?
@randahl shhh Don't tell Trump I was actually born in France. hmmm... Ok... I will just tell him myself.

@randahl

I wonder what these countries think about Canada.

We have some Maple MAGAts up here who think Trudeau is hated in the rest of the world, but the few surveys I've seen shows Canada and Trudeau are well liked.

@csstrowbridge
Very positive view of Canada and Trudeau here โ˜๐Ÿผ ๐Ÿ˜Š
@randahl You know it's serious when germans trust the French more than anyone else.

@mrkreuzer @randahl
Politically the so-called German-French axis was always strong and important.

Cause there are stereotypes and negative views here and there. But in general there's no broad hatred towards the French.

I like them anyway. ๐Ÿ˜

@ruedi @randahl I think it's the kind of relationship siblings sometimes have ;)

Where I am from in Germany we have the Hermannsdenkmal...basically a statue of a dude with a sword in his hand, ready to fight...the architect explicitly wanted it to face France haha

@mrkreuzer @randahl
Yeah, bit of making fun of each other is absolutely ok. Nothing wrong with that. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I live in Cologne which was taken over by Napoleon's army. We still have a lot of French stuff, words and so on. Find that really cool.

@randahl
In God we trust (and the rest we monitor).
@randahl the US is now basically Eastern Russia. It just needs the Bering Bridge to be built.
@randahl In Canada a recent article indicated that our friends are now Europe and Asia whereas USA is now seen as a threat
@randahl wtf is their beef with Ukraine? (a French person asking)
@randahl
to be frank, before Trump I already was a bit suspicious of the USA boys...
@randahl Even Americans don't trust the USA anymore.

@randahl
The question was "who do you trust most", not "who do you trust".

So how can the total of all percentages be well above 100%?

@randahl

Trusting fools! Nobody should trust the USA at this point. 16% ? Far too high

@randahl @kevinrj I'm just so glad someone somewhere is finally realizing we're just not all that great, and, perhaps, we never were.
@randahl @davidtcook The Germans trusting the ***French*** more than, well, anyone, is certainly a MOOD.
@randahl why the distrust of Ukraine though? Is it just due to Russian propaganda or there's something to it?
