Labor Notes has a contest for a general strike anthem, so this is my first demo of the song I wrote for it. The song is written to be easy for people to pick up and sing- so the crowd can easily sing
@Anatree Thanks! It's Creative Commons, as is everything I write and record, so feel free to cover it, add new lyrics, and do with it as you will. It's designed to be a really versatile song, so you can just replace the rhyming couplets with your own and make it work for any struggle. Want to make it about animal liberation instead of a general strike, for example? You could write something like:
They are life that wants to live-
do not take what they don't give
Hold fast, all together- hold the line
They're not leather, fur, or meat-
put on Earth for you to eat

Or whatever other causes you want to uphold. Feminist version?
