Ursa Minor gets wet food with extra water for breakfast and dinner. At lunch and bedtime he gets a few kibbles in a puzzle dish. We tried a puzzle ball, but it seemed annoy him given the force he used to smash it into walls.
He’s very food motivated, having been the runt of his litter. Anytime we’re having food, he wants food too. If we’re “late” we get adorable drama until we feed him.

Ursa Minor is part trash panda. He loves playing in holiday trash and at Christmas I replace his old horde of ribbon with fresh ones. This pile has been moved to the dining room table and he was happily digging and rolling in the ribbons.

Last night I set our smallest laundry basket inside a larger one. This morning Ursa, who adores being in laundry baskets, figured out how to get in the nested baskets! He was very pleased and proud of his efforts.
Ursa Minor sneaking up to wish me a very bitey #Caturday. Earlier this year he started sneaking up or furiously diving at me to bite my lower legs. Most often it is fairly gentle, occasionally he gets too feisty and I have to pick him up and hold him like an ornery, sharp baby until his hunting instinct subsides.
My amygdala has primal, ancient hominid opinions about this game. He stalks my wife, but doesn’t attack her. I’m also the Mama he wants “fight cuddles” from, so hunting me must be in this range of behaviors he associates with me.

My wife went on her annual Roadtrip Recharge on Monday and I have had a few appointments, some X-rays, and the day of contractors. In between all of those I’ve mostly been working on my large tree, which stands over 30 inches tall and spans 40 inches when it’s upright, teaching classes, and hosting an online meetup yesterday.
Bertie has got to go along a few times, which means Ursa has been alone. Today Ursa has opinions about how I should spend the day.
Where’s Ursa?
My wife is nearby on a brief adventure as “shakedown test”. Bertie and I will join her for lunch.
Meanwhile Ursa Minor has several opinions about breakfast service starting a little later than usual. Either that or he’s preparing his audition for Oliver!

Ursa meets B2EMO
This amazingly detailed, 3D printed model of one of the best droids in the known galaxies was a last minute order from the Ukraine that @christi3k decided was worth it even if wouldn’t arrive until after the end of the year. Bee rolls on squeaky wheels, can turn and move their head, and they have a light (which made me gasp with delight).
Ursa does not like the squeaky wheels and is unconvinced that the light is good. Ursa is awaiting the annual refresh of his “good trash” box, when all those bows become his nest.
This afternoon the Goodwill Ambassador and I drove around “greater” PDX metro (we went up to Vancouver !) distributing gifts we didn’t manage to get out at the New Year. We kept our streak of getting in a walk every weekend by ending our junket with a stroll around Mt. Scott Park.
While we were out Ursa Minor engaged his Goblin Mode DLC and we arrived back to discover he’d knocked over (from the dining table) or carried multiple things onto the kitchen/dining room floor! He seemed well pleased with his efforts!
