@Azarilh After some thought, I think calling it toxicity might have been an overstatement.
In reality, lots of individuals were criticizing Proton arguing it is under heavy US influence because the CEO, Andy Yen, made some bold posts on Xitter and the subsequent community backlash on Reddit.
I'm not really sure to what extent I can really blame those people for being upset at the CEO's behavior, however, what they remarkably fail to understand is that Proton is way more than some spicy tweets.
Proton Mail (and other Proton services)
@Tutanota Next stop:
- Reddit to Lemmy (support forum)?
- Accept Monero directly (not proxystore)
- Onion/I2P?
Even Proton has onion and accepts BTC, not to mention Disroot, Cock, etc. (addy.io accepts Monero). But you can outrun Proton by accepting Privacy coin! Go Tuta :D
@Tutanota This is a reference to this story for anyone who doesn't know. For anyone degoogling who is weighing up between different email platforms, this could be a reason to reconsider going with proton
@Tutanota love that y'all are here, and love even more that when I make a bug report I quickly hear back from good human beings involved in the project
Hope you have a lovely day Mr/Ms tuta social media person :)
@Tutanota
1. Company joins Mastodon;
2. They barely interract on Mastodon;
3. Complains not many people follow them;
4. Leaves.
That's the average Mastodon complainer, i swear. You interract a lot and in fact you got lots of followers. Glad you are here.
@Tutanota
And the most important thing, they are your followers and cannot simply be blocked and or removed.
Network resilience. Thanks for sticking around!
@Tutanota The verification isn't working quite right - it's ok on mastodon.social, but not other servers (infosec.exchange and beige.party, for example)
This might be because the HTML code for your verification link lacks the rel="me" attribute, which is important according to some instructions?
Here's the snippet of your page's source code:
