Filling out a questionnaire for my bone density scan soon. "Do you have any family history of osteoporosis?" Well my granny, but also me, since 2017! Also measured height in case needed. I've shrunk 4cm in recent years, more upsetting than the last bone scan showing osteoporosis in 2017. It's no surprise I developed osteoporosis, due to steroids since 1998, but also my periods stopping in 30s due to toxic daily cocktail of drugs. Periods resumed briefly in 40s but bones took big hit. #NHS #bones
HRT is now helping my bones, as are strong bisphosphonate bone regrowth drugs. But yup. Another bone density scan upcoming. I should have had one years ago, to see how I was coping after starting strong bone regrowth treatment in 2017. But hey, better late than never. Even if it is on a different scanner from last time, which is far from ideal for comparative purposes. #osteoporosis #bones #NHS
@vivdunstan I've been on Alendronate for 3 years after #parathyroid adenoma removed that caused #osteoporosis. T-score of -2.7 = not impressed. And Alendronic Acid and Autistic routines don't mix well. Wishing you better luck #NHS
@ChadHanna thank you! I can’t remember what my T score was in 2017 which confirmed osteoporosis. Will be interested to see what the next scan shows. I’ve been on Alendronic Acid ever since 2017. Was in Adcal for years before, but frustrated as a pre menopausal woman I wasn’t given stronger help sooner.
