An astonishing amount of management training seems to boil down to 'have you considered not being the worst possible example of a human that you can think of? It might make your team more productive!' Which really makes me wonder about the incentive structures that lead to people who need to be told that ending up in management positions.

At a previous company's management training they taught the opposite; stop being nice to and supporting your employees, they don't deserve it.
