@CdnCurmudgeon They all came out of the woodwork...
@CdnCurmudgeon most unrealistic thing about this is Musk holding a pick correctly and looking like he'd use it to help. #nazipunksfuckoff

@hkystar35 @CdnCurmudgeon

well, if one can learn to pose with a chainsaw...

actually, you made me realize, "Looking like he'd use it to help" may be the most important inner core of the pro-oligarch propaganda (and many of musk's specific cons as well)

it doesn't even need to be very believable, as we've found over the years

"tesla fsd will make roads safer. ...somehow"

"gen-ai is good actually, because disabled ppl can now gamble witch art-generator slot machines", etc

@CdnCurmudgeon, I pinched myself. It is reality. Not a nightmare.
@CdnCurmudgeon Nice one! I'll just suggest an improved version:
Soviets buried fascism > USA destroying the Soviets stability > MAGA digging fascism out of the grave.
@hamileitous Good, yes, but I don't think fascism was ever in the grave. On life support perhaps, but never fully dead. The USA has always had a streak of Nazi-ism and fascism (Lindbergh's 1941 rally in NYC...). Scratch a racist and you'll find a fascist lurking just under the skin. And MAGA is full of them.
@CdnCurmudgeon i had to dig a bit to find out about the cartoonist. David Pepper is a political commentator (and cartoonist) who writes on substack. In the top right corner you'll see an apology to Bill Mauldin,
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Mauldin
an American editorial cartoonist famous for his WW2 cartoons depicting American soldiers, the archetypal characters Willie and Joe, two weary and bedraggled infantry troopers who stoically endure the difficulties and dangers of duty in the field.

@clusterfcku Thanks. I know Maudlin's work. My parents — both WWII veterans — had a copy of one of his anthologies of cartoons at home, and I read it as a child. His cartoons have appeared in numerous histories of WWII since; books I've been reading for the past five decades. And I have shared the link on other platforms.

@CdnCurmudgeon It was never buried, not really. It, like most types of antisemitism, is changing, and sometimes it bubbles up more than others, but it's always there. It's only a question of how loud it is.

Nothing's ever as buried as we want it to be; for instance, when my mum was growing up in Cleveland, there was a KKK march. It was the eighties.

MAGA zombies in action. Can’t make the stuff up…

@Bongolian My favoutite film! I saw it when it was first released, and have seen it at least a dozen times since. Hump? What hump?

@CdnCurmudgeon

USA isn't very self-aware, as

-Franco's Spain and Greek junta were US allies.

- USA was more of an tag along for Britain and Soviet Union.

But I'm sure it's great for their self-image.
