If you're in the US, now is a great time to do a #CreditFreeze on all three of your credit reports. It's not all that difficult, just a bit of time.
You do have to create freezes separately at all three of the credit bureaus:
- https://www.transunion.com/credit-freeze
- https://www.experian.com/help/credit-freeze/
- https://www.equifax.com/personal/credit-report-services/credit-freeze/
And, while we're talking credit reports, if you haven't checked yours in a while, time to do that, too!
Federal law (for USAians again) mandates you can get one copy of each of your reports for free in a one-year time span. You can get all three reports at once, or check one of them every four months.
There are many mock services that offer to get you your reports. There are plenty of services (even the bureaus themselves) that provide paid services to get you more copies over a year.
But the place to go for the annual free ones is:

Almost every bank/credit card will give you unlimited free ones from at least one of the bureaus too.
Chase updates mine all the time and even alerts me to changes.
