I want to thank those nonbinary people who are able to be visible in society. It's a dangerous place to be, but we need you.

For those nonbinary people unable (or simply unwilling) to be visible, thank you for making the world a little less lonesome and dangerous by simply existing as you are.

@proudnb I present as masc by default without trying, so adding fem elements is a deliberate choice each time I do so. Getting my ears pierced, growing my hair out, wearing clothes that make me happy: these are all little acts of resistance as much as they are expressions of my fluidity.

I shall not be contained in the closet.

@proudnb How do you present visibly as nonbinary? Unless I dress a particular way or constantly tell people I'm nonbinary, they won't assume. Some of it is by race alone.

@thalassophobic As you might expect, it'll vary between individuals. Dress, transitioning, pronoun usage, name choices, or even just being vocal about it are all elements that can contribute to being visibly nonbinary in a given society.

I suggest simply doing what makes you feel the most like yourself because that's healthy for just about anyone (even cis people).
