@richardsever With the current US administration going after everything scientific and especially biomedical, wouldn't it be a good time to establish a European mirror of @biorxivpreprint ? Maybe hosted by the EMBL?
It would be such a huge loss if they managed to shut down #biorxiv...
@Guillawme @biorxivpreprint important to stress we are not funded or operated by the US govt so I think that worst case scenario is unlikely, but it's an important consideration (as is long-term archiving, which is covered by Portico)
TBH I would be more worried about PubMed and the fact that while it is mirrored by EBI they still depend on US PubMed for submissions...
