Not my words, but saw this and wanted to share them:
“What happened to Sam Nordquist is beyond horrific.
Sam came to New York, hoping for love and connection. Instead, they were met with the worst of human depravity. But this wasn’t just the act of five individuals—it was the product of a society that has made dehumanization a political strategy. We have seen this before.
Transphobia is not an opinion. It is a weapon. The politicians, media figures, and online personalities pushing fear and lies about trans people are creating a culture where violence like this is not only possible but inevitable.
Sam was not a statistic, not a headline, not a talking point. He was a person with hopes, dreams, and a future that was stolen from them. His name deserves to be remembered louder than those who took their life. We must say their name, mourn their loss, and fight back against the culture that allowed this to happen.
Hate does not stay contained in words—it festers, it spreads, and it kills. It killed Sam. And unless we stand up, it will kill again.”
