They might personally *despise* one another, but you will almost never see them do anything to seriously undermine the power and privilege of their class. Obama did not attempt to charge Bush with war crimes, Biden did not attempt to charge Trump with sedition, etc.

Imagine if your currency is gold.
If gold is concentrated in small number of people your economy is screwed, because the amount is finite.
90% of people don't have gold to spend or they will fight each other for those bits
But what if the government can print out gold and dilute its value. There is an illusion of people having gold but their worth is diluted.
Soon it will be more concentrated and the small people balloon in wealth while the rest keep their more diluted gold.
