Whew, building a server in a 2U case with an ATX motherboard is tight. Guess I need to add a an HBA too because those SATA ports are pretty well blocked by the fan wall. #homelab
The good news is the 6x-half-height-PCI-to-3x-full-height adapter fits perfectly and only took 2 iterations to design and print

5x 2.5” drive cage adapter designed, printed, and installed ✅ First time using heat set inserts - what a game changer.

Next step: find good quality thin SATA cables and wait for the SATA vertical adapters to arrive.

Welp the test boot was unsuccessful - turns out the Gigabyte motherboard I got used on Craigslist is dead. Not sure how dead, I don't know anything about fixing motherboards
The good news is the refurbished MSI B450 from eBay works flawlessly! Next step is sourcing a riser cable of appropriate length for the GPU - the one pictured is just a Quadro I had laying around
The riser cable finally came! I transplanted all the SSDs into the printed caddy which worked perfectly. I had to print a half-height bracket for the Mellanox 10G card and then I broke it while screwing it in but I think it’ll hold.

Welp the good news is that the GPU bracket mostly works. The not so great news is that the riser cable is way longer than it needs to be. I’ll have to see if it can be squished down enough to get the chassis cover on. Time for a test boot first!
