Pink Fridge: Today I visited the labs of Natalia Ares in #Oxford. She has the only pink dilution fridge in the world. These are the kind of machines that help produce the lowest temperatures, slightly above absolute zero. This is important for #quantum technologies.
Natalia is the pioneer of using #machinelearning for semiconductor qubit experiments. I understand the fridge was delivered in pink by Oxford Instruments.

All scientific instruments look better in pink. Kudos!

This is interesting. Fascinating. Shocking.
Pink ... Shocking Pink.

(however, you still get boo'd at for saying my new curse word "quantum")

Can she freeze up a dozen Einstein-Bose Condensates PDQ? It’s my Friday to being in “donuts” and I was told “winter theme”

Oxford Instruments deliver their fridges in the colour you want?

OH MY!

@CelloMomOnCars @MPI_ScienceOfLight Actually no, usually Oxford Instruments fridges are just blue. But I understand they messed up a bit some admin in some earlier delivery, and Natalia told them in jest they would have to make the next one pink. Unexpectedly, when delivery time came, it was pink!
