I'm reading #RunYourOwnMailServer #RYOMS by @mwl , and I'm thinking about what I know so far about #stalwart https://stalw.art/, and I can't figure what his opinion of it would be, I can see it going either way 😅
- "oh, nice, don't need to need with all those separate things and making them talk to each other"
- "eh, if it works for you, cool, I already have mine 🤷"
- "this abomination doesn't even follow Unix philosophy, I wonder what else it does wrong - no, I don't want to know"

@viq

My only objection to a canned solution: do you know how the parts fit together? can you troubleshoot them? Do you understand what is happening under the hood?

My goal is to teach readers how it works so they can maintain it in the long term.

@mwl yeah, and I appreciate that 🙇 And you give a bunch of "and things probably broke in some interesting spot at this point, so go and figure out in what ways your system chose to be obnoxious today" 😂 which is a great way to learn
And yeah, the canned solution can go away one day, and then it's back to glueing pieces together... But it does look shiny for what it does.
