My mom just got back from the library. She says that it's "so sad" to visit libraries now because they've so few books -- especially nonfiction.

I remember being a teen and young adult in this small town and having a similar frustration finding books I would enjoy. It's taken years to clarify for myself that I love books that teach me something, even when I'm reading for fun. My favorite books combine "fun" with learning -- like "The Life-Changing Manga of Tidying Up".

I've lived in bigger cities such as Norfolk, Virginia years ago. From what I've seen of libraries here in the US in recent months, their nonfiction sections were still really healthy.

What are y'all's experiences | opinions? Is this a small-town issue? Or everywhere?
