Birth Anniversary of Sarojini Naidu – The Nightingale of India (February 13)

A poet, freedom fighter, and a pioneer for women in politics, Sarojini Naidu (1879-1949) played a crucial role in India’s independence movement. She was the first Indian woman to become President of the Indian National Congress and later, the first female Governor of independent India.
