Interesting book, but I think those particular book-hold-openers, (or whatever you call them professionally), deserve a post of their own.

@jztusk They're not mine, the photo is from the bookseller. You can tell it's my photo if there are a couple of fingertips just visible at the bottom holding the book open.

Ah well. I think the one time I visited your library I saw people using some kind of soft beanbag to keep books open. I wondered if you'd transitioned to Baroque cast-bronze human hands. Looked to me like a downgrade in terms of preservation, but then I'm not a professional archivist. :-)
