I think its time to repeat what I've said before:

The only dangerous minority are the rich!

@ChrisMayLA6 I have my suspicions about Christians too. At least as a general rule.

@denny

Ha ha, yes see post from a few days ago on Quakers (the acceptable face of religion)

@denny @ChrisMayLA6 I'll bite (disclaimer as a Methodist Minister).
Would you like a conversation about that?

@Dave42W You do have the headwear of the sort of religious person I would consider worth listening to 🙂 Certain amount of not taking yourself too seriously there, which I approve of!

I don't think it's a very interesting conversation though - I just think religion (particularly Christianity, historically) has caused more death and general horrors in this world than religion/Christians have fixed. Given that I don't believe in the next world, that's enough to leave me unimpressed overall.

I did once date somebody whose parents were vicars, and they were both excellent people. I imagine they might consider that interwoven with their faith, but I think they're just good people anyway. Quite hard to chicken and egg that starting from different axioms though.

@denny yeah the hat felt like punishment at one of our Christmas parties 🤣

It's a long running debate. I would agree there are far too many examples of Christians failing in horrific ways. On the other hand today I was able to buy gas and electric for a Mum with none & no money and two teenagers thanks to donations from Churches.

I wonder about you thinking you know your friends better than they do. That's a bold claim, one that contradicts my own experience and I'd hardly be alone.
