The owner of Meta wants more "masculine energy"? Well, I'm doing my best to bring my feminine energy to the Fediverse.

Hello! I'm Elena Rossini, an Italian filmmaker, photographer and FOSS advocate based in Paris, France.

Pictured here: at the Louvre museum after a portrait shoot (for a book jacket's author's pic: Monica Parker, The Power of Wonder). I'm proudly wearing around my neck my 3 cameras: a #Canon 5D Mark IV, a #Fujifilm X-T3 and a #Nikon Z fc (which has my favorite lens, a Sigma 30mm f/1.4).

I'm delighted to see Pixelfed growing into such a nice photo community.

hi Jerry! So nice to hear this. So, I am LOVING my self-hosted Pixelfed instance but federation has been a real issue. Like, any profile I click on shows 0 followers, 0 posts and an empty feed. I just copied and pasted your username and I'm now following you. The more accounts you follow, from the most varied instances, the better

@ele How are you finding the Nikon Z fc?

I've seen mixed reviews, but I'm sorely tempted to buy one only because of how much I loved my Nikon FM2 back in the last century. (Only camera I've had that worked happily at -40°C.)

@[email protected] Disclaimer: it’s not my main camera.

For work I use a Canon 5D Mark IV and for everyday photos I use a Fujifilm X-T3.

I got the Nikon Z fc because I have an extensive collection of Nikon lenses and I wanted to be able to keep using them (they’re mostly a mix of Nikkor AI / AIS so I have an adapter for them). The Sigma 30mm is now always on my Nikon and I love its gorgeous bokeh - but focus can be a struggle

From now on I will assume that is the correct number of cameras to carry at all times.

Edit: also knew I know the mentioned lens. I had the opportunity to photo with 2012 or so Sigma 35mm f/1.4 manual. My best portraits were made with it (as far as amateur photography goes).

@ele If anything, we need a lot more feminine energy in the world, if you ask me! Not a lot of women started wars, instigated genocides or became billionaires over the backs of the plebs, to name a few examples. Masculine energy, especially in the way the owner of Meta insinuates it, is disgusting.
