@georgetakei unfortunately asking for kindness which will be ignored can't substitute for dark deeds.

@georgetakei anyone who hasn't completely lost their humanity, has had a very dark year. I don't know if you heard about it, but there's a genocide going on. And both Republicans and Democrats fully support it, and our president became a full partner in it. Dark days indeed. They didn't just start with Trump entering the White House. And fascism didn't start with him either. If being a full partner in genocide, and arresting and silencing anyone who is against it, isn't fascism, then I don't know what is.
We do not live in a democracy anymore. Trump is terrible. But he isn't the beginning of terrible. Terrible started decades ago when bribery became legal and our government was sold to the highest bidder. If that hadn't happened, Trump wouldn't be president in the first place.

@georgetakei As someone who has attended church regularly for much of my life, her sermon was pretty standard Christian teachings. Trump's reaction doesn't really surprise me although it did surprise me that some conservative religious figures felt the need to weigh in. I do firmly believe that her example is exactly how we get through these times. As MLK said "Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that."
