Look, it's all my favourite streaming services on one platform!

@cheetah_spottycat to the owner of the company I work for:

I liked and boosted this because it's relatable, not funny

@cheetah_spottycat I sorta stopped doing that when streaming was cool and cheap and pirate bay got executed.

I've looked around for replacement but not really found one...

https://1337x.to

Before, it was RARBG, which is now down.

@frumble @crazyeddie @cheetah_spottycat RARBG may be down, but https://rargb.to/ is not. don't tell anyone though ;)
RARBG Rarbg Index page - RARBG.to - RARBG Proxy

RARBG - Torrents, movies, download, music, games, free, Rarbg Rargb Index page, RARBG Proxy.

@spubby @crazyeddie @cheetah_spottycat You shouldn't use this. This is a clone site without the people who made RARBG (Ukrainians and Russians). It's never wise to use clone sites.
@crazyeddie @cheetah_spottycat If you find a good way... I'd love to know.
I think paying for these services is unethical.
@AeonCypher use stremio? I am currently using it and ghosh! Its freaking amazing!!
@crazyeddie @cheetah_spottycat what do you mean executed? I've been using ThePirateBay without issues
@crazyeddie @cheetah_spottycat In my view, that's what my local library system is for. They have damn near everything I could ever want to watch, and I don't have to pay subscriptions to anyone or risk getting embroiled in lawsuits or going to jail.
@crazyeddie @cheetah_spottycat For movies check out YTS. Pirate bay is still around you just have to search for it. I got s05 of Yellowstone just today from the pirate.
@cheetah_spottycat AND I get it in the highest quality without watching on operating system they approve in the browser they approve with a cable and screen they approve, wow!
@cheetah_spottycat
Torrential Entertainment if you will
@cheetah_spottycat @tvaughan definitely, my favorite streaming service! 🏴‍☠️
@cheetah_spottycat search for debrid services or seedbox.
@cheetah_spottycat I prefer the red torrent, which torrent do you like the most?
@cheetah_spottycat i agree with the sentiment but what the hell is a "Torrent+"? I enjoyed paying for Torrent but don't tell me that theyve introduced, judging by the two different logos, two separate pricier tiers (and dont get me started on the inclusion of that shitty knockoff, "torr ent")
@cheetah_spottycat i love to spend time at my local public library :)
@cheetah_spottycat lol with all the early 2000s movies becoming unavailable or having to pay for them possibly
@cheetah_spottycat the only good streaming serves I found was Mubi. but currently I've not subbed anywhere. subbing is such a waste of money, do people really take full use of it? i often find myself not, how often are there movies or show you acually want to watch?

@cheetah_spottycat

Long live TPB!

Its impresses me to no end how these guys have managed to keep this going all these year. They get knocked down, but they get up again!

Download music, movies, games, software! The Pirate Bay - The galaxy's most resilient BitTorrent site

Download music, movies, games, software and much more. The Pirate Bay is the galaxy's most resilient BitTorrent site.

@cheetah_spottycat at the moment I use "the old NAS where I used to dump all my torrents". Which is quite nice but I resumed watching one piece and I miss having a nice interface keeping track of where I am in the serie
@gkrnours @cheetah_spottycat I run Emby on my very old NAS for that. If your NAS can’t run it, you can put a Raspberry Pi or cheap old Tiny PC on the network to run it.
@davidbcohen @cheetah_spottycat I started the android version, couldn't get it to talk to my NAS smb share. I'm looking into jellyfin at the moment which they say is a fork of emby?

@gkrnours @cheetah_spottycat Never used it on Android - what device were you running the server on? You were using Emby Server and not the client, yes? You do need to have Emby server running connected to you SMB files.

Jellyfin is also good. There is no server for Android, though.

@davidbcohen @cheetah_spottycat NAS running smb is an old netgear running the factory proprietary OS on a mips architecture. Ideally I would run the media server on the home server but it's running openbsd and no emby nor jellyfin openbsd server. I'm looking into running a linux on the openbsd with vmd. I got an alpine linux shell and got distracted.

@gkrnours @cheetah_spottycat can I interest you in jellyfin?

https://jellyfin.org/

The Free Software Media System | Jellyfin

The volunteer-built media solution that puts you in control of your media. Stream to any device from your own server, with no strings attached.

@gkrnours @cheetah_spottycat Try PLEX, very simple setup, and a very nice interface on all the good things from streaming plataforms.
@gkrnours @cheetah_spottycat I use Jellyfin on my NAS. It's not good with saving positions either but has a nice interface 😀
@cheetah_spottycat Sorry, I'm just a dumb zoomer. Where do you even torrent stuff? Also wondering how to log into IRC chatrooms. I want to experience part of the old internet, not the new corporate-owned internet :)
@Chl0333Z @cheetah_spottycat use qbittorrent, it has a search tab which you have to enable in the menu. Also you have to click on the button to manage search add-ons and enable and update them all. There's also a link there to add more addons.
@cheetah_spottycat P2P the best package out there
@cheetah_spottycat @losttourist In case someone asks question, you can say that you’re only training your model
@cheetah_spottycat but the hard part is to find a legit torrent website 🤔
@cheetah_spottycat I have a Netflix subscription. For $10 a month it provides 95% of what my family watches so it is well worth it. For everything else there are the Torrents. Got s05 of Yellowstone just this morning!
@cheetah_spottycat 😅🤣😂 To tell you the truth, I've rediscovered the joy of going to the movies. I can't go back to their so-called 《content》made by A.I. and constant price hikes.
Sadly this is generally the same stupid content than on those channels :(. I prefer medias like Youtube, Peertube, Twitch or any other today participative content things, where you have more diversity of content.
@Popolon @cheetah_spottycat
I don't know which stupid content you refer to, but on a torrent site, I always look for something specific: be it a movie, a series, etc. I had the pleasure to discover hundreds of unfindable movies. No platform can match such a catalogue.
That's a good point, that's true :) I referred to standard formated Hollywood inepties that flood torrents, their channels and theaters.

@cheetah_spottycat Best platform hands down. Ad-free, zero cost and available on practically every operating system.

Using a good client like qBittorrent with a reputable VPN, like ProtonVPN, is highly recommended for privacy protection.

Proton has an article on setting up qBittorrent with their VPN incl. port forwarding (only supported on paid plans). You’ll also need to set up port forwarding on your router, either manually or enable UPnP (recommended to disable again afterwards).

@cheetah_spottycat ¿Cuáles son los que están de moda hoy día?. Por qué llevo un tiempo sin ponerme al día de este tema...
@cheetah_spottycat Torrent is pure selfishness and commerciality around, the Fediverse is Emule. No, it's not dead, it just went on a spree.
@cheetah_spottycat this but every logo says "800 EUR cease & desist claim"
@lritter I recommend using put.io :)
@lritter @cheetah_spottycat this post but instead of "800 EUR cease & desist claim" it says "use a VPN"
@hazelnot @cheetah_spottycat not foolproof. if the VPN supplier operates in the same jurisdiction they are obligated to keep connection records, and can be coerced to give out information, which means they get you anyway. it's a tricky business.
@cheetah_spottycat something something yarrrrrrr and pirate bay and rum
