While studying for my exam, I read about ‘Lumbung’: an agrarian practice in Indonesia. It’s a rice barn used by villagers to share and store surplus in crops & a place where they meet. Art collective ‘Ruangrupa’ sees this as an idea for mapping resources & identifying basic needs & self-limitations, to define the resources and surpluses of each initiative & share it with others. It inspired me to look at socials as a means to share our ‘surplus in crops’ with eachother 🌾
