The individual actions we make for the planet every day matters, but let’s not forget that in order to tackle global inequality and solve the multiple crises we must demand systemic change.

By asking governments to #TaxTheSuperRich we can act for a green and fair future with the speed and scale required!

@greenpeace

Ask?

You want to ask governments to start taxing?

After decades of neoliberal fuckery, and while the world is hurtling towards fascism...

You still want to politely ask?

@determinerik

And the irony of it all is that in the US where this seems to be worst, the super rich now ARE the government.

@greenpeace

@greenpeace me at 45 searching for Luigi Mangione memes (I had learned about organizing against capitalism and the state and to not expect anything from capitalistic reforms like taxes before 35)
@greenpeace Compost the billionaires.
@greenpeace well, of course. Like Willie Sutton said when asked why he robbed banks, "That's where the money is!"
@greenpeace it’s cute to think that asking works.
The future of life on this planet (as we know it) depends on the working people wresting power from the ruling class before it’s too late.
The “super”rich need to be driven into extinction before they do the same to the rest of us, not taxed.

@greenpeace
How can we dismantle the super rich?

Holding hands and going towards self sufficient, off grid, community living ☮️

@greenpeace I don't think we should tax the super rich. I think we should instead take the wealth that they (the Uber rich) acquired via exploiting their workforce and give it to said workforce.

Letting the government decide how to spend that money just puts too much faith in government. After all, they (government) allowed the exploitation to begin with. Do you think they'll be better stewards if you all of a sudden hand them a bunch of cash?

@greenpeace I bet they taste like wagyu though, albeit a bit more porky

@greenpeace

Me at 50 googling
"how to destroy the super-rich tech-fascists"

@greenpeace

it begins with:
Do not support them,
do not use google.
Don't be evil.
