OnurThis week, the category is… INLAND EMPIRE. After watching the 3-hour movie, I continued with 75 minutes of More Things That Happened, deleted scenes from Inland Empire. Then I watched a half-hour chat between Laura Dern and Kyle MacLachlan about David Lynch and his unconventional ways of moviemaking, specifically in the case of Inland Empire where there was no finished script and they filmed as they went, sometimes with weeks or months of gaps in between.
Another thing the movie triggered was to make me listen to Beck’s album Guero after hearing the song Black Tambourine in a scene and remembering how good the sound of that album was.
