PANORAMA

2 dashes chocolate bitters
¼ oz maple syrup
½ oz Amaro Averna
¾ oz mezcal espadín
¾ oz Black Blended Rum ❺
¾ oz overproof Pot Still Lightly Aged Rum ❶

Garnish: orange peel
Method: Build in glass, stirring with the rock. Garnish with an orange twist.

Stirring my way through the cold weather. I found it hard to pick out the base spirits. Rather, they intensified the bitters and amaro bringing out strong spicy flavors balanced out nicely by the syrup. I found this one on IG chips_classic_cocktails.

Cocktails I Have Known and Loved

@rupl
Nice pic!
I'm somehow stuck with photography, I have limited skills and space.
I use a pentax with 50mm f1.4 lens to shot portraits of my drinks into a small photo box (a 40cm cube with led and black background).
I have a long way to go 😁
@boozyANDsour thanks for the kind words! I have also been feeling a bit stuck, especially in winter when I photograph in my kitchen at night. Even if the pic turns out good, I get bored with my countertop being in every photo :) In the warmer months I use my back porch during daytime and can quickly rearrange things to change up the look.

TBH all I have is my iPhone. I don't have a real camera. With good light it does most of the hard work for me. I like the idea of a photo box. Could you take slightly wider shots and add some props next to the drink to change the motif?
@rupl
Sometime I squeeze in the frame the bottle of the spirit I use, if it's small enough, but nothing more. 😁
@rupl sounds and looks terrific!
I will have to try this soon - I have everything for it
What chocolate bitters do you use (for this?)
I have angostura but also Fee Aztec chocolate bitters.
The latter worked much better in a mezcal negroni.
@SRDas@mastodon.online I used Bitter Truth in this pic (it's a German brand but I get the feeling like it's widely available). I do like this spec for its accessibility. It's not a short list of ingredients, but anyone who maintains a home bar probably has most of it on hand.
@rupl thanks! Bitter truth is available here. They're really good! I have some, but don't remember which - I don't have their chocolate specifically. .
@SRDas@mastodon.online BTW thank you for your kind words!
@rupl oh! My pleasure!
Sounds fantastic, gonna try this soon!
