@SerialWhiner Though commonly associated with Kubrick's 1968 film 2001: A Space Odyssey, the music here was not written for the film. It's the "Sunrise" fanfare from 'Also sprach Zarathustra', written by Richard Strauss in 1896, a classical piece that was famous before Kubrick was even born.
