Now do some Steve Winwood from '86....

@VulcanTourist
.
. . . trying to remember . . . Back in the High Life? Was that it?

@punishmenthurts

Yes. Happen to be jiving to it right now as I play a game from ten years later. No embarrassing video to share of that jiving. That whole album was listenable, which is rare for me.

.
Aw! 😈
.
It's not one I ever focused on, so I won't remember much, but I'll see if ultimate guitar dot com has it
.

@punishmenthurts

It not like any of the tracks on that album are guitar pieces. The arrangements are complex and there's a lot going on beside just guitars. Winwood played piano on more than one of them, but he was proficient with just about everything (incl. guitars).

@punishmenthurts

> complex arrangements

(One of the reasons that I liked it so much.)

@VulcanTourist
.
yeah. I've already given up. 😘

@punishmenthurts

Ooops! I grok it.

@VulcanTourist
.
I remember the chorus, is all - but I still can't sing that, and it's coming back to me that I never could.
.
Also, today is not a good music day, I was hoping an extra day would bring Running on Empty a little closer, but no, not a bit. Worse, by quite a bit. 😘

@punishmenthurts

I've been listening to that album on repeat for three days. I've heard things I never noticed before. The complexity is awesome! It very much leans toward piano, keyboards, percussion, and bass, though, with guitar work as a garnish, like the guitars in Wake Me Up on Judgement Day. You could almost easily miss them at many points.
