"Infrastructure", like the roads that take people from end to end and are used to deliver essentials, people may drive them without really thinking about them. The same can be true for open infrastructures -- they underpin crucial essentials but are not in the "spotlight". Many of these essentials could not be accessed without the infrastructure behind them.
