@invinciblehymn and I held a moment of silence during our wedding ceremony to mourn our trans siblings... and we have devoted much of our lives towards advancing justice for trans folks, especially TPoC.
Grief, determination, and hope are entertwined on this day for us.
It is a day of mourning, but also the day we committed as spouses to addressing the crisis of poverty, homelessness, and violence that especially impacts trans communities of color.
Trans people #WontBeErased. And on #TDOR that means remembering and saying the names of the trans folks who have died to violence and to suicide, whom our society owed better to.
We must lend our privilege to address transphobia, racism, ableism & more.
But for me personally, I'm also going to cherish my 8+ year long marriage to @invinciblehymn today. I'm coming home to her across the continent; we'll celebrate our marriage & what we've done together to enable trans folks to survive, but also mourn those who didn't survive.
