2024 set a record as the warmest in history, with the average global temperatures 1.6°C above pre-industrial levels.

Multiple global records were broken, contributing to extreme events, including floods, heatwaves and wildfires.

@EUCommission And you've decided to make it worse by building "AI factories"
@EUCommission This post sounds like there's something to celebrate. No indication on how to move forwards from here...

@SpringXiaoyu

I was thinking the same! Because "Learn more about the Global Climate Highlights" & specifically that term "highlights" sounds like it's a fun thing... 😐

@EUCommission
We know many things to do that would improve the situation.
But greedy men running/owning megacorporations don't want to and buy politicians.
@EUCommission
Taking gigawatts of wind energy from nature does not contribute to a healthy planet, it's time to start admitting to that.
@voidzero @EUCommission What's your solution? Burning fossils until we burn to death?

@voidzero @EUCommission

Taking wind energy from nature ? Is that some form of sarcasam ?

@gens @voidzero @EUCommission it has to be ragebait, there's no way they can believe that
@voidzero please educate us how all that wind energy is missing from nature
@EUCommission Impressive! Is there an organization that, if it decided to impose drastic changes on its members, could transform this situation?
@sebu @EUCommission How exactly would it impose anything on its members? Who is the decision-maker in the organisation?
@EUCommission We need to build more nuclear power together with renewable energy sources.
@EUCommission And yet you are extremely happy with large ai data centres and want to reduce a forest protection plan. Sit down and stop being hypocrites. You know why this is happening.
@EUCommission
The science people are still trying to figure out what cause the 2023 peak and on you side you are sure of what happened. Interesting, this mean you are talking without science backup.
@EUCommission WE don't need to learn more. YOU need to start doing more.
yes that includes pi$$ing off 'investors' and lobbyists if they don't align with your climate actions.
@EUCommission "Highlights?" Hardly appropriate. I'd call them lowlights.
@EUCommission let's all put some effort people. We can definitely go HIGHER! This is loser numbers
@EUCommission
That's the level for very good reasons we agreed on not surpassing. Getting passed that level we are heading for increases that will be far beyond anything we can do about them.
This is crucially why critical, not superficial, change has to come. Put CO2 out on all services and products and fix an equal limit each and everyone has to abide by. To start this in Europe, add your name here. It's urgent and this is serious :
