In addition to large particles (which N95 masks protect against), wildfire smoke also contains smaller volatile organic compounds that can also be harmful. For even better protection, wear an elastomeric with a cartridge that is graded to protect against vapor and gas. These cartridges last a long time, so it's a good idea to keep these in your emergency pack!
