Maier Amsden@cindyweinstein One of my many MAGA family asked me what "toxic masculinity" meant, as if being masculine was toxic. I said it's just violent masculinity. Like how the most masculine emotions are rage and apathy - because those are the emotions that go best with violence.

@cindyweinstein They reacted the way Trumpers typically react when I contradict their conservative "thought" leaders - with silence, followed by a reframing of the zombie idea - "Well all this woke crap is making us weaker as a country!" I responded, "Fewer assaults, rapes and murders make us weaker?"

@cindyweinstein That's when I realize that my family member doesn't respect me at all or even hear the words coming out of my mouth if they run contrary to the #ConservativePropagandaMatrix. I've since retreated to pure (*that's what you think makes sense?) snark, and if they want an explanation, I'll give them one (that they'll half-hear and promptly forget).
