Paws to TrailEven in winter the falls can be swarming with children, but today it was just us. There was an interesting cavern behind the frozen cascade to explore! Zeena checked it out, but ultimately the humans found it more interesting.
All sorts of interesting ice formations! Including a knothole on a log where apparently a tiny set of lungs down within were sending out just enough moisture to create a fringe of frost at the opening.
Tonttu, meanwhile, had no other interest in the ice than what he could eat.
Perhaps if he learned not to pull so hard on hikes, he wouldn't get so thirsty!

@khusky The lighting was tough for photography on the falls because they're in shadow, facing North, but I'm happy I got some of the detail to pop without making Zeena look weird at the same time. 😁
