Meanwhile! I've been very critical of the #Toocheke theme for #Webcomics but it has a few advantages: one is that it works and is actively updated to work with new versions of #Wordpress. You can't beat that.

The other is that when I asked about adding widgets to content areas in the archives that are currently inaccessible, Brian at Leetoo.com just went ahead and wrote me a child theme that gave me that access. And maybe that will end up in your child theme too!

There were only a few customizations to the theme that I had to redo but it looks like I may have fucked one of them up. But let's wait until the static site upload is done…

Nope, I didn't fuck it up! Everything transferred neatly to the child theme; just the header is a slightly different crop so it needed to be re-uploaded. So now the archive site at https://www.reinderdijkhuis.com/ has the ComicAd ads on most of its pages, making it safe to promote publically as its own entity without too much risk of a hefty bill that I may not be able to pay.

(That daily rate of a penny or two is all I need! That's how cheap my hosting is)

Now, the ad doesn't quite play nice with the theme's CSS and sticks out of its content area. But that's a problem for another day.

Generally, though, I'm glad that this has also contributed to overall site health! I've looked over all of my theme and now have another part of the site that is widget-accessible.
