She handled that like a pro 👏🏼

Glad she did not have someone really tighten the lug nuts with an air impact wrench. I've had lug nuts that were so tight before I was almost unable to break them free with the lug wrench. Had to stomp on the wrench to start them.

@georgetakei me watching Linux tutorials.

@georgetakei She actually got this wrong. When you tighten the nuts up, you spin them on, give a brief tighten with the wrench, and then drop the car back on its wheel. That lets you tighten them fully without the wheel spinning. This is especially the case when doing a front wheel on a RWD car, having the vehicle in park will lock the back wheel (so long as the other rear wheel is still on the ground) but the front wheels are freewheeling. It's different if you have a cordless rattle gun, but most people don't have one in their car.

She was also using a ratchet that was too short to get the required torque. Typical wheel nuts need 100Nm of torque or more. With a 250mm ratchet handle, that's around 40kg of force on the end of the handle. There's no way she would get close to that with that ratchet. She also did not appear to be tightening them up in a star pattern, which is what you are supposed to do as it helps prevent wheel warpage, among other issues.

As they say, a little bit of knowledge can be a dangerous thing, especially when combined with overconfidence.
