Just saw ¡Casa Bonita Mi Amor! - the documentary of Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s (mis)adventures along the way to reopening the “Disneyland of Mexican Restaurants” in Denver.

The dawning realization that getting the facility safe & up-to-code is 3x the budget before even starting on the fun stuff.

Would even call it a must-watch for anyone who makes (or is thinking about making) physical immersive things.

Captures both the addictive joy of making these things and the endless reasons why it’s hard.

In my experience, what they captured in the doc is very real at all scales of investment.

Doesn’t matter if the budget is over 100M or a fraction of a percent of that. The frustrations and elations are all there.
