'Hanging On'
A beautiful, large ancient oak tree with some remnants of autumn colour on a cold, frosty winter's morning. I've got many images of this tree, but I hope one day to have a set of nearly identical images through the different seasons.

I can almost see an angry face in the middle and a small maw at the base of this tree, and with no leaves, it might seem to be a scary tree out to get me.
But with a fringe of tiny orange leaves on it's branches, it makes me think of an old woman putting on her best Sunday hat as she goes out to a holiday party. The maw at the base of the trunk becomes her yappy dog of almost 20 years that despite its age enjoys a jog through the snow much as he did as a puppy.
