@[email protected] there was some research on ravens a few years back. A huge aviary divided in half. Ravens could only see to the other side at one small spot in the middle. When ravens on one side were fed they would fly to a place to stash the extra food. When ravens on the other side were watching they would go through the motions of hiding at one spot and then hide the food somewhere else. Their actions were based what they thought the ravens on the other side were thinking.

I wish I had the link easily available. I wasn't surprised that ravens were that smart ... however I was super impressed that the scientists could figure out how to design this kind of experiment.
