✨ As 2024 is coming to its end, we are happy to review some of the achievements of the UKP Lab ✨

▪️ We have established two independent research groups (AI and NLP for Mental Health, led by Shaoxiong Ji, and NLP for Expert Domains, led by Simone Balloccu.

▪️ At this Year’s #EMNLP2024 we presented 13 papers, including 11 in the Main track and 2 in the Findings track

▪️ 11 papers authored or co-authored by UKP members have been accepted for publication at this year's #ACL2024NLP in Bangkok 🇹🇭!

▪️ At this year's #eaclmeeting in Malta, two papers co-authored by the UKP Lab have won awards for Best Resource and Social Impact. Congratulations to Yuxia Wang (MBZUAI (Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence) et al. for the Best Resource Paper and Tilman Beck, Hendrik Schuff, Anne Lauscher (Universität Hamburg) and Iryna Gurevych (Technische Universität Darmstadt) for the #EACL2024 Social Impact Award!

▪️ The Royal Society announced that Iryna Gurevych will receive the 2025 #MilnerAward. The Milner Award is given annually to only one European researcher for outstanding achievements in computer science. Iryna Gurevych is the first female awardee from Germany as well as the first German university professor receiving the Milner Award.

▪️ At #ECMLPKDD2024 in Vilnius 🇱🇹, the Award Chair recognized exceptional papers that remain relevant a decade after publication. This year's Test-of-Time Award-winning paper, »Large-scale multi-label text classification—revisiting neural networks«, was presented by Jinseok Nam, Jungi Kim, Eneldo Loza Mencia, Iryna Gurevych and Johannes Fürnkranz at #ECMLPKDD2014 in Nancy 🇫🇷.

▪️ And last but not least, the manager magazine and the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) have named Iryna Gurevych one of the 15 most important female AI pioneers in Germany and one of the top 100 most influential women in the german economy.
