The House Ethics Committee plans to
✅ release an investigative report into the conduct of former Representative #Matt #Gaetz of Florida, according to three people with knowledge of the matter.
Mr. Gaetz had resigned from the House after Donald Trump named him as his pick for attorney general,
but Mr. Gaetz ended his candidacy after the weight of allegations of sex trafficking and drug use made it clear he would not be confirmed by the Senate.
He consistently denied the allegations.

#Robert F. #Kennedy Jr., Mr. Trump’s selection for health secretary, is expected back on Capitol Hill on Wednesday for more meetings with Republican senators.
His audiences so far have been friendly lawmakers but he may find a more skeptical greeting soon:
➡️ He is expected to meet with Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska who has said she wants to question him on his anti-vaccine advocacy.

Speaker Mike Johnson is defending the 1,500-page #stopgap #spending #bill unveiled on Tuesday.
It started as a simple measure to avert a government shutdown until mid-March
but became a magnet for more than $100 billion in emergency disaster and farm aid,
plus unrelated policy measures.
An array of House Republicans are unhappy with it.
Mr. Johnson went on “Fox and Friends” on Wednesday to defend the bill, saying his thin margin in the House and Democratic control of the Senate and White House meant
“any bill has to have Democrat votes.”
