@adamconover this is a terrible analysis, absolute wishcasting. People didn’t vote for sweeping systemic change, they very narrowly voted for what they think of as a return to the pre-COVID status quo. If Republicans had been in power during the pandemic recovery and the resulting global inflation spike, Republicans would be the ones licking their wounds right now.
@adamconover not embracing radical change. Do what the Repugs did. Layout a plan covering decades to step by step move the country in your direction. Since Nixon Republicans are working to get a Trump elected. Democrats need to do the same thing. Game the system, consciously, meticulously, county by county, piece of the government by pieces of the government. Radical change means defeats, and another defeat and another defeat.
@adamconover I think we're past the point where they need to be replaced with something better.
@adamconover
Democrats were beaten for now by a 60 year realignment of White people to supporting racism, xenophobia, sexism, bigotry, and fear of non-white immigrants having rights. They aren't coming back for scoobie-snacks. They can get scoobie-snacks from their own team.
I've seen this evolve my entire life.
Maybe we change the messaging, but none of those people are coming back. Not ever.
