I think we have a true bipartisanship moment in the country. Many people across all political spectrums, all walks of life, all economic statuses, seem to agree that healthcare CEO's get what they deserve with all the dark and #gallowsHumor and stories about their horrible health insurance experiences.

Those reactions are now being analyzed by the same people that made a cottage industry of analyzing American elections in a manner to keep the analyzation of American politics a thriving business, and once again, with all their judgement on their holier than thou soapbox's.

Well, tv analyst's, you can:

The media are also making a 24-hour breaking news cycle with their analyst comments. Like this, based on grainy security image of the gun.

John Miller, CNN’s chief law enforcement and intelligence analyst suggested the UnitedHealthcare CEO was shot and killed with a veterinary gun, like the ones they use to bring down rabid dogs. Like maybe that is a significant message. Then goes on that the image also makes it appear to be a World War II era , "Welrod." The “Welrod” was the assassin's weapon of the British and Allied forces.

They are just talking to keep it going as a 24/7 newscycle.

No one really knows the motive. Just what the motive has been made to appear, and I question that since it is almost like the shooter is leaving a "look at this, look at this" billboard.

We really, as a nation, need to reevaluate cable and 24/7 news channels and their value and see them what they are. Outrage or addiction machines meant to sell commercials and books.

3/ This bug is still itching me.

Cable news "insert breaking news" source information process

@paul Yeah, they are talking just to fill empty space. 🙄

@Jason844 Like always. I noticed this the first time when that intern, Chandra Levy, went missing. The only thing that stopped that news cycle and all the speculation and rumors and facts the news analysts were trying to make stick was the 9/11 hijackings.

That went on from May until Sept 11, 24/7.

For a long time, they had Congressman Gary Condit picked apart alive, and convicted, and it ended up being just a "normal" violent crime by a third party. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_of_Chandra_Levy

@paul @Jason844 I was shocked to find in the entry that you linked to, that:

"Levy's murder remains unsolved."
The violent 3rd party got a retrial after some messed up legal shenanigans, and the prosecution opted to deport him instead of trying him again. He might have done it, but nobody ever legally proved he did.

@nyquildotorg @Jason844 That barely got a blip in the news.
@paul @Jason844 I lost track of the case on September 11th 2001 like most everyone else, and all this time I basically thought Conditt was given the most incredible get out of jail free card by having a much, much bigger story capture everyone's attention.

Reading all about what I missed 20+ years ago, and thinking like a TV procedural, I have a new dumb theory based on newer evidence: it wasn't Conditt, it was the
other woman Conditt was having an affair with at the same time he was with Levy.
@paul The signal to noise ratio concerning this story has gone way down. I keep hoping that NYPD holds a detailed press briefing to clear up what they know (within reason). The speculation machine just fills airtime (as already noted in the thread). It is very frustrating.
